Jeremy Thorn
Management Consultant
Jeremy Thorn has a passion for developing organisations and their people in both the private and public sectors internationally, following a wide-ranging career in senior management.
After working extensively in the UK, France and the USA, Jeremy was Managing Director of one of the first companies in the UK ever to win Investors in People accreditation, as well as a Design Council Award, Queen’s Awards for both Export and Technology and both corporate and individual National Training Awards. He then helped to found a nationwide management consultancy practice, where he was successively Managing Director and Chairman.
Author of several award-winning books (‘How to Negotiate Better Deals’, ‘The First-Time Sales Manager’, and ‘Developing Your Career in Management’) available from http://www.specialistbooks.net/index.asp?m=98, Jeremy is a regular contributor of management development articles and seminars to a large number of professional bodies. He is also a licensed administrator of an array of ethical psychometric profiling instruments.
He is an experienced Non-Executive Director/Chairman, most especially of a number of medium-sized companies, often with an international perspective, past Chairman of a UK Trade Federation and a regional National Training Awards jury, and past Deputy Chairman and founding Director of a large regional Training & Enterprise Council.
A graduate from Leeds University in Materials Science and a Chartered Engineer, his post-graduate training has been at the European College of Marketing, Cranfield Institute of Technology, the London Business School and Oxford Psychological Press.
Jeremy is the proud father of 4 delightful daughters and lives in Yorkshire.
